How To Use
Track your pain journey, measure what works, and make informed decisions about your treatment.
🚀 Getting Started
1
Rate Your Pain
Use a 0-10 scale. 0 = no pain, 10 = worst pain imaginable. Be consistent in how you rate it to track real changes.
2
Log Your Sleep & Function
Pain and sleep are bidirectional — poor sleep worsens pain, and pain disrupts sleep. Track both to see the connection.
3
Track Your Treatment
Log what you're taking, when, and the results. Include meds, PT, injections, pacing, and alternative approaches.
4
Read Your Management Score
The dashboard calculates a 0-100 score based on pain control, function, sleep, treatment strategy, and professional support.
🎯 Key Concepts
Pain Management Score: Combines pain level, breakthrough episodes, functional limitation, sleep quality, treatment strategy (OTC → comprehensive), and professional support. Above 70 = well controlled. 40-70 = managing but room for improvement. Below 40 = poorly controlled, reassess with provider.
Breakthrough Pain: Pain that breaks through your baseline treatment. Zero episodes = excellent control. 1-2 = acceptable. 3+ = inadequate control, needs reassessment.
Multimodal Approach: Combining different treatment types (meds + PT + pacing + mind-body) works better than any single approach. Track what your personal combination is.
Function vs Pain: Don't just track pain — track what you can actually DO. Improved function with same pain = real progress. Use this to measure treatment success.
When to See a Specialist: If pain worsens, function declines, or treatments stop working, it's time to see a pain specialist. Bring this data with you.
